In April 2023, ATAG organised a briefing for multilateral development banks (MDBs) on aviation's energy transition from fossil fuels towards sustainable aviation fuels and the importance of fostering partnerships with MDBs and international financial institutions to enable the transition.
Speakers explained aviation's commitment to net zero carbon emssions by 2050; the key role of sustainable aviation fuels in achieving this; and the importance and potential for scale-up of SAF production to levels required in order to decarbonise commercial air transport.
