ATAG is organising two side events during the UNFCCC COP30 meeting in Belém, Brazil, in November 2025. Both events will be held in the Blue Zone of the COP30 venue (for accredited delegates who are part of a delegation or who have observer status).
The side events will bring together industry and government stakeholders to explore aviation's progress towards net zero, with a particular focus on embracing the challenges and opportunities of SAF for the Latin America region.
This ATAG event will explore Latin America's huge potential to become a leading SAF supplier in the world. Discussions will focus on the policy frameworks, investment conditions, feedstock availability and regional cooperation that are required to enable the scale up in SAF production within the region.
Speakers will include experts from the Asia Sustainable Fuel Association (ASAFA), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and LATAM Airlines.
This side event is being organised by ATAG, the Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA) and the Pan-American Liquid Biofuels Coalition (CPBIO) as part of the Climate Champions team thematic agenda.
It will focus on aviation's progress towards net zero, bringing together key initiatives to showcase solutions and results in aviation decarbonisation. The event will highlight opportunities for developing nations and demonstrate the widespread implementation of the solutions across the sector.
Speakers will include experts from ABRA Group, Climate Catalyst, the Climate High-Level Champions team, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Industrial Transition Acceleration (ITA) and the co-hosting organisations: ATAG, CPBIO and SABA.
Note that capacity restrictions may apply at both events and access will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
