ABU DHABI·ATAG SPEAKING

ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS)

The ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) is taking place from 10 to 12 February 2025, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The symposium will delve into the transformative impact of advanced technologies on airspace management, safety enhancements, and environmental sustainability. Global experts and industry leaders will engage in panel discussions addressing the changing regulatory environment, the importance of international cooperation, and the cutting-edge training essential for advancing the aviation sector.

GISS 2025 will bring together Ministers from various regions to discuss resource mobilisation, tackle global challenges, and examine their implications for air transportation. The focus will be on advancing ICAO’s No Country Left Behind (NCLB) initiative and setting the new long-term Strategic Goals.

GISS 2025 will also introduce an innovative feature: the Sustainability Aviation Marketplace. The Global Sustainable Aviation Marketplace (GSAM) is an initiative from the General Civil Aviation Authority initiative supported by ICAO that aims to foster vital partnerships between the global private and government sectors to drive decarbonisation in the aviation industry.

On 12 February 2024, the GISS and the GSAM will merge to propel a global discussion on the ICAO Finvest Hub and forge an alliance in support of the financing of decarbonisation projects, with a focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in developing States and States with special needs.

Haldane Dodd will be among the speakers. For more information, please see the event website.
