ATAG organised a briefing in Santiago, Chile, as part of the IATA Wings of Change Americas conference. The ATAG Net-zero aviation briefing looked at how aviation can lead the way in decarbonising our vital global connectivity, including:
- The essential role of sustainable aviation fuels: ensuring sufficient supply; investment and infrastructure development; transitioning away from fossil fuels by mid-century and providing new energy industry opportunities around the world.
- The potential for new technologies, including electric and hydrogen power for aviation.
- Commitment from governments and preparing for the ICAO Assembly in the autumn of 2022.
