SÃO PAULO·ATAG EVENT

Roundtable: Decarbonising aviation with SAF

BlooombergNEF and ATAG are co-hosting a Roundtable discussion on decarbonising aviation with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), in São Paulo on Tuesday 1 April. This one hour discussion will be held during the BloombergNEF Forum on Brazil’s Energy Transition: Opportunities, Challenges, and the Road to COP30.

The roundtable will focus on the scale-up of SAF in the Latin America region, with a particular focus on financing requirements.

Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is one of the few low-carbon solutions with the potential to decarbonise aviation and the only near-term option beyond technology and operational gains. The growing SAF industry shows promise, with rising offtake agreements and new projects increasing expected capacity.

However, challenges like limited supply, resource competition, and lack of technological diversity create financing barriers. As policymakers develop demand signals and airlines seek supply, overcoming production and infrastructure bottlenecks is crucial to meet aviation's net-zero 2050 goal.

This event will bring together members of the finance community including investment bankers, development banks, investment portfolio managers and industry SAF experts.

The roundtable is principally for the finance community and investors and places are extremely limited. If you are interested in attending, please email events@atag.org for more information.
