Aviation: Benefits Beyond Borders is ATAG’s flagship report. It is released every two years and explores the economic and social benefits of the global aviation industry, while also assessing the industry’s shared responsibility and action on climate change.
Using analysis by Oxford Economics and statistical information provided by industry colleagues, the report provides a unique view of the air transport system as a major employer, supporter of trade, tourism and vital lifelines. As well as the global analysis, there are breakdowns for various geographical regions and a country-by-country assessment of aviation’s benefits.
A new edition is under development in 2024 and scheduled for release in the final quarter of the year. It will be the first report since 2020 and we are hoping to expand the analysis and provide more data on the social benefits of air transport worldwide. Communications material will be developed to accompany the release, including updates to the Aviation: Benefits Beyond Borders website, a video and social media campaign.
