ATAG General Assembly 2024 and 2025

The 2024 ATAG General Assembly was held in April in Geneva. Thank you to those among our members who attended and especially to those who travelled from afar. The annual General Assembly is a legal requirement for Swiss-based associations and covers a number of governance issues. We were pleased to also include an information session which members of IATA’s Sustainability and Environment Advisory Council attended.

Niamh Lawless, who is Under Secretary General for Management Policy, Strategy and Corporate Services at the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) was interviewed by Paul Steele, a former ATAG Executive Director. Niamh shared her views on the IFRC’s current challenges and reconfirmed the critical role played by aviation in moving people and supplies in times of crisis. ATAG and the IFRC will discuss this further.

Philippe Rochat, who is also a former ATAG Executive Director and was Secretary General of ICAO from 1991 to 1997, provided some insight from his experience of collaborative approaches that have helped aviation face complex challenges over the years.

Please find below some photographs from the event.
