Aviation: Benefits Beyond Borders – communications activities

The launch of Aviation: Benefits Beyond Borders 2024 in Chicago was accompanied by a media and outreach campaign comprising:

  • The pre-launch campaign on social media leading up to the 80th anniversary of ICAO, highlighting key milestones in the history of aviation.
  • Announcements via international and regional press releases, blog posts, the dedicated website and video and social media.
  • A post-launch campaign highlighting key findings of the report using social media placards, short video highlights and a series of blog posts.

We have developed a complete toolkit (available from the ATAG private website) of social media assets, which will be updated with additional resources throughout the course of the year. These include the following:

  • social media cards
  • suggested key messages, sample blog posts, key statistics and media releases
  • template PowerPoint slides, which highlight the progress of civil aviation over the last 80 years and its socio-economic impact.

Industry communicators are invited to join the campaign and to share the new Aviation: Benefits Beyond Borders with their contacts. With industry support, the launch of the social media campaign from 5-7 December 2024 resulted in more than 450,000 views on X and LinkedIn.

We also plan to collaborate with research institutions / universities / other forums to host a series of webinars and events in 2025 on the findings and to publish some opinion pieces in key media. ATAG members are invited to make contact with Felix Eggert if they have suggestions for relevant events for consideration.
