In the March 2025 edition of the ATAG Member Briefing, we outlined an initiative by Amy Strang of Airbus, to create a network of young aviation professionals to help inspire and educate the next generation of aviation leaders to play a key role in ensuring the sustainable future of the aviation industry. ATAG is supporting this activity. The network has now been established and has been newly branded as the “Emerging Leaders in Sustainable Aviation” – or ELSA. A logo has been developed, which appears below.
The network is being set up by a Mobilisation Taskforce of 14 members, who represent manufacturers, airports, SAF providers, leasing companies, airlines and aviation associations. It has established its vision and mission, drafted a Charter document and identified the future governance structure with defined roles and responsibilities. Communications material, including web pages, are under development in preparation for a launch in September 2025. The network also has its own email domain, to which messages can be sent: hello@elsa-network.org. Please email the network directly to sign up to receive the newsletter and be the first to hear about how to get involved in the network when it formally launches.
