ATAG has continued to host Path to Net Zero briefings around every 6 weeks in 2025, to share views and updates on topics related to aviation and sustainability. The two most recent briefings, which took place in September and November, focused on the following:
- the 42nd ICAO Assembly (see separate article)
- preparations for COP30 (see separate article)
- the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)’s Opportunity of a Lifetime campaign (see separate article on communications campaigns), with a guest presentation by Sophie Talarico, Global Policy Manger and UNFCCC Focal Point for Business and Industry at the ICC
- the UNFCCC “Granary of solutions”
- the Global Solidarity Levies Task Force (see separate article)
- the UNEP Emissions Gap Report for 2025
- the Emerging Leaders in Sustainable Aviation network (see separate article)
- the status of Book and Claim for SAF. Michael Schneider, IATA’s Assistant Director Environmental Programs, provided a presentation on the Civil Aviation Decarbonization Organization’s SAF Registry, which was established by IATA.
