Communications campaigns: UN Decade of Sustainable Transport and ICC Opportunity of a Lifetime

ATAG is also currently engaged in other communications initiatives, working together with the ATAG Communicators’ Working Group:

ICC Opportunity of a Lifetime

In the lead-up to COP30, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) invited various organisations to contribute to a blog and newsletter on how the climate change challenge also presents a great opportunity to stimulate innovation, investment and industry transformation. ATAG has coordinated a dedicated aviation edition of the newsletter, providing members with the opportunity to showcase case studies of innovations and developments that address climate change. This will be featured on the ICC website and shared through the campaign newsletter, reaching an audience of more than 45,000 recipients. ATAG is also sharing the aviation contributions on its social media platforms. More information about the campaign can be found here, as well as a blog post by Haldane Dodd on Flying towards a net-zero future.

UN Decade of Sustainable Transport

The UN Decade of Sustainable Transport will run from 2026 to 2035 and was officially launched at an event at the UN Headquarters in New York on 10 December 2025, where Haldane Dodd spoke. As well as liaising with and contributing to the stakeholder consultations organised by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs on an Implementation Plan (which will serve as a strategic framework for the UN Decade), ATAG has compiled an industry publication showcasing aviation’s contributions to sustainable development globally.

The publication features guest articles from member organisations, highlighting how aviation contributes to the Sustainable Decade and setting out the sector’s vision and commitments for the next 10 years – both with regards to net-zero and advancing sustainable development more broadly. It is available on the ATAG website and is being shared via ATAG's social media channels.

Voices in Aviation - audiovisual campaign

The publication is being accompanied by an audio-visual campaign, running on social media and sharing video statements from executives of member organisations. While these short video clips are being recorded by our members, ATAG has developed a practical video guidebook with tips and specifications, to ensure consistency in presentation.
