Communications, social media and green claims webinar

Communicators working group

ATAG held a meeting of its communicators working group in Amsterdam in March 2026. The meeting was kindly hosted by SkyNRG. Discussions focused on milestones and projects for ATAG in 2026 and social media best practices. Participants shared information about practices that have worked well for them, including examples of successful campaigns, content formats, tools, performance insights, and tracking approaches. This was followed by a discussion that will form the basis of a set of guidelines for industry communicators.

In addition, there was an interactive session that explored key themes and opportunities for proactive communications across the global aviation industry, to see how we can more effectively address key issues and how stronger collaboration can amplify our collective impact.

The working group also discussed how to communicate aviation’s socio-economic benefits, in the content of the new Aviation: Benefits Beyond Borders report.

Industry communicators are invited to register for the ATAG private website, to access the presentation and other relevant files.

The next meeting of the ATAG communicators working group will take place in Brussels on Wednesday 14 October 2026. Please contact Felix Eggert (eggertf@atag.org) for more information.

Webinar on green claims – 2 September 2026

ATAG is hosting a webinar on Green claims: An update on global developments and new rules in the EU, on Wednesday 2 September 2026, at 15:00 CEST.

The webinar will provide an update on the latest global developments in the regulation of green claims in environmental communications, with a particular focus on the EU’s new Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (EmpCo) Directive, which will apply from 27 September 2026.

We are pleased to be joined by Dr. Constantin Eikel, Partner at Bird & Bird, who will provide an overview of the EmpCo Directive and what its new anti-greenwashing requirements mean for companies as they prepare to comply with the legislation.

Beyond the EU, the session will explore the latest global developments in green claims regulation, their implications for aviation stakeholders, and how organisations can continue to communicate their sustainability initiatives with confidence while reducing the risk of greenwashing allegations.

Whether you joined our previous webinar or are new to the topic, this session will provide practical insights into navigating the evolving green claims landscape and preparing for the new regulatory requirements.

Please register online for the event using this link. This is an industry-only webinar but you are welcome to share the link within your organisation.
